ARK Coat Stand
by Adrian Cohan Retail price: $ Status: Form meets function as each of its supports becomes a hook for your coat, jacket or hat. The bottom ring not only holds the supports together, but doubles as an umbrella stand. The ARK Coat Stand consists of 4 supports structures and two rings CNC cut of ¾” inch thick MDF sheets. It is assembled through the use of simple finger joints incorporated into the parts. The edges are finished with black lacquer. Measured at approximately 5.5´ tall and 1.5´wide, the Coat Stand will come flat packed in a box 5.5´x 12¨ x 4¨

Born in Buenos Aires in 1962. Studied Industrial Design at the University of La Plata, Argentina and got his Masters In Industrial Design with Honors at Rhode Island School of Design. He won numerous awards: The Visionary Excellence for Product Design and Award of Excellence II at RISD, a Bronze Award from Koizumi International Lighting Design Competition, in Japan, and a First Prize and Honorable Mention in the “Coca-cola in the Arts and Sciences”, Argentina. He worked for Fitch, Inc in Boston, as a product designer. In 1994 he returned to Argentina and opened his industrial design and product development consultancy working in projects such as security devices, sanitary ware, vehicles, P.O.P. displays, commercial furniture, toys, sport shoes and electronic devices for clients in Argentina, Brazil, Israel and the U.S. He was also a professor of the Industrial Design Graduation Course at ORT Argentina and the University of Buenos Aires, for more than 12 years.
